The Christian Definition of God.

From the Westminster Larger Catechism

*** God is a Spirit, in and of Himself infinite in being, glory, blessedness, and perfection; all-sufficient, eternal, unchangeable, incomprehensible, everywhere present, almighty, knowing all things, most wise, most holy, most just, most merciful and gracious, long-suffering, and abundant in goodness and truth.

*** There is but one only, the living and true God.

*** There are three persons in the Godhead, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit; and these three are one true, eternal God, the same in substance, equal in power and glory; although distinguished by Their personal properties.

*** It is proper to the Father to beget the Son, and to the Son to be begotten of the Father, and to the Holy Spirit to proceed from the Father and the Son from all eternity.

*** The Scriptures manifest that the Son and the Holy Spirit are God equal with the Father, ascribing unto Them such names, attributes, works, and worship, as are proper to God only.

____________________________________________

Since it is impossible for any human to know God solely through his own efforts and abilities, we must depend upon God to reveal Himself. Without revelation, there is no possibility of knowing God or knowing Any Truth at all.

There is only one person who has claimed identity with the Truth, and that is Jesus Christ, when He said, I AM THE TRUTH (John 14:6). He demonstrated His power over death and sin through His life, death and resurrection.

> Jesus Christ is the Truth.

> Truth is God.

therefore

JESUS CHRIST IS GOD.

This is the sole True proposition that is available to humans at this time.

The believing and knowing of this Truth is everlasting life (John 17:3).
